    What to Bring to Your Appointment

    We're excited to see you at your appointment! To make things easy, here’s a quick checklist of what to bring. We hope this helps you feel prepared and confident for your visit.

    Identification

    You will need to bring one valid (original) government-issued photo identification card with you. Eligible IDs must contain a clear photo of your face and be issued by a government agency. Examples include a driver’s licence, a government-issued ID card or document, a passport, or a Permanent Resident card.

    If you are unable to provide one eligible piece of photo identification, you are required to provide two documents from a reliable source that indicate your photo and signature. You may also be required to provide additional documents from a reliable source that confirm your name, address, and date of birth.

    Please note: Health cards issued by the province of Nova Scotia are not permitted as identification anywhere in Canada.

    Personal | Business Tax Information

    We will need to your Social Insurance Number (SIN) or Tax Identification Number. We use this information to verify your identity and when necessary, access your credit history.

    If you are opening a Business, Non-Profit, or Charity Account with us, you will need to bring along your registration information and Business Number (GST/HST number, if applicable).

    If you're a Student or New to Canada, please bring your Study Permit or Temporary Resident Visa, one additional piece of government photo ID such as your passport or Canadian driver's licence. Proof of enrollment, such as your Student ID Card or other approved document.
    1. For everyone signing on the acccount: One (1) piece of government issued photo identification (If your address is not current, please bring a recent utility bill)
    2. Most recent pay stub or letter of employment 
      • If self-employed: the last two (2) years of tax returns, NOAs, and financial statements
      • Pension: NOA or tax return and recent chequing account statements
    3. Details on the car you are looking to finance or purchase (make, model, year, price, dealer/seller information)
    Please be prepared to answer questions about your existing assets and liabilities. Other vehciles, credit cards, savings, etc. This will help us prepare your Net Worth Statement. You don't need to know all the answers - we will help you build a plan!

    2. Most recent pay stub or letter of employment 
      • If self-employed: the last two (2) years of tax returns, NOAs, and financial statements
      • Pension: NOA or tax return and recent chequing account statements
    3. Details on the property. If this is a new purchase, ask the realtor for a copy of the most recent: property tax bill, utility bills, MLS listing, sales agreement, etc.)
    4. Current property insurance policy (if applicable)

    2. List of existing investments or statements: RRSP, TFS, GICs, Mutul Funds, LIF, LIRA, RRIF, RESP, etc.
